The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe

The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, known as the “Arc” is one of Europe’s most prestigious flat horse races, held annually in October at Longchamp Racecourse in Paris, France.

Established in 1920, it is renowned for attracting the finest thoroughbred horses of three years or over from around the world. Covering around 2,400 meters, the race draws a diverse crowd of racing enthusiasts, celebrities, and international visitors.

Also held at Longchamp is the Grand Prix de Paris, another prestigious annual race held in July. Both ensure a memorable experience for all attendees amidst the elegant backdrop of Paris.

The Palio di Siena

Originating in medieval times, the Palio di Siena embodies the rich heritage and passionate spirit of the Tuscan city. Dating back to the 17th century, this historic event sees ten of Siena’s contrade, or districts, compete fiercely in a bareback horse race around the city’s iconic Piazza del Campo. 

More than just a race, the Palio is a celebration of local identity, tradition, and communal pride with vibrant festivities happening around the event. Today, it continues annually in August and is held at the famous Piazza del Campo. It is a wonderful way to witness age-old traditions and atture that draws visitors from around the world.
